Edmonds Historical Museum
Edmonds Historical Museum, 118 N. 5th Ave., chronicles the settlement and growth of Edmonds and southern Snohomish County. Special exhibits include a working model of a shingle mill and a marine room displaying the city's maritime heritage. Kirkland Arts Center

Museum of Flight Restoration Center
This 23,000-square-foot working restoration facility features up to 15 historic planes at a time. Aircraft being restored include a de Havilland Comet—the first passenger jet—and the Chance Vought XF8U-1 Crusader prototype, which was the Navy's first supersonic jet fighter. Visitors also can see the completed 1933 Boeing 247D, the first modern passenger craft and the result of a 14-year restoration effort. Call (425) 745-5150 for more information.

Space Needle
Reaching to a height of 605 feet, the Space Needle has been Seattle's signature structure since it was built as the centerpiece for the 1962 World's Fair. An observation deck at the 520-foot level provides panoramas of the city, Puget Sound and the Cascade and Olympic mountains. An orientation exhibit offers information on major points visible from the observation deck. Telescopes are available on the outside deck walkway.
