Leavenworth offers visitors a four-season destination. Leavenworth is known for its Bavarian festivals, and a close proximity to neighbor city Wenatchee. You can make the simple and scenic drive south into Wenatchee - once there pay a visit to the Ohme Gardens, just part of Washington's diverse cultural landscape. Leavenworth houses the Nussknacker Haus, which is a nutcracker store that has one of the largest collections of nutcrackers in North America. Leavenworth has many Bavarian festivals running year round. Starting with the Bavarian Ice Festival in January, then moving to the Leavenworth Ale Fest in April, the Maifest in May, the Bavarian Biker Brews Fest in June, and the Kinderfest in July, and that’s just the beginning. Also, the city has an incredible Christmas light display in December along with…you guesed it, a Christmas lighting festival. With all these festivals it is pretty obvious that this city really knows how to celebrate its Bavarian roots and have fun, and you should join in while in the area.
