Leavenworth offers visitors a four-season destination. The city is known for its Bavarian festivals, but shopping, cross-country skiing, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and fishing are all readily available to you in Leavenworth.

The city also houses the Nussknacker Haus, which is a nutcracker store that has one of the largest collections of nutcrackers in North America.

Leavenworth has many Bavarian festivals running year round. Starting with the Bavarian Ice Festival in January, then moving to the Leavenworth Ale Fest in April, the Maifest in May, the Bavarian Biker Brews Fest in June, and the Kinderfest in July, and that's just the beginning. Also, the city has an incredible Christmas light display in December along with�you guest it, a Christmas lighting festival. With all these festivals it is pretty obvious that this city really knows how to celebrate its Bavarian roots and have fun, and you should join in while in the area.
