Cat Tales Zoological Park

Farragut State Park
On the site of a former U.S. Navy training center built in 1942, the 4,000-acre park borders Pend Oreille Lake and is a popular boating, fishing and recreation area. Features include an extensive hiking and biking trail system, groomed trails for cross-country skiing and a visitor center with exhibits. Fort Sherman Museum
Fort Sherman Museum, on the North Idaho College campus, has exhibits about the history of Fort Sherman, the Coeur d'Alene Indians, the U.S. Forest Service and the lumber industry. It also houses an original Forest Service smoke chasers' cabin. Call (208) 664-3448 for more information.

Manito Park
Manito Park is on Grand Blvd. between 17th and 25th aves. The 90-acre park, established in 1904, features a conservatory, Japanese garden, perennial garden, rose garden and lilac garden. The Duncan Garden, which has a fountain and gazebo, is a formal garden for the display of bedding plants. The Bing Crosby Collection
The Bing Crosby Collection is on campus in the Crosby Student Center. The center's Crosbyana Room features more than 150 items relating to crooner Bing Crosby's life, including his Oscar, gold and platinum records, photographs and trophies. Crosby attended Gonzaga University and was awarded an honorary doctorate in 1937. His boyhood home also is on campus and houses displays. Call (509) 328-4220 for more information.
